Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of foot and heel pain. It is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that connects your toes to the heel bone.  It affects more than three million people each year.  The pain from plantar fasciitis is typically most severe when first stepping out of bed in the morning. Another sign of plantar fasciitis is pain upon dorsiflexion, or lifting the foot towards the shin.  The location of plantar fascia pain is usually the underside of the foot and/or in the heel.Plantar Fasciitis

The most common treatments for plantar fasciitis are pain relieving medications and physical therapy.  In studies, acupuncture has been shown to be more effective than conventional treatments for treating this condition.  In our clinic the acupuncture for foot and heel pain like plantar fasciitis is usually done in the hands so that we can avoid the painful foot, and see immediate results from the treatment.

Besides being effective, acupuncture treatment in Orlando also has fewer potential side effects, than conventional treatment.
